Congratulations to William Dunbar for it's Pickering Battle of the Books Victories

Today, William Dunbar Public School won both the Junior Battle of the Books and Senior Battle of the Books for the City of Pickering. Both teams will be moving on to the Regional Finals to be held this Thursday evening in Whitby. Good Luck, students.
Also competing in the Junior Battle of the Books were teams from Blaisdale Montessori School (second place) and Elizabeth B Phin Public School (third place), as well as teams from the Montessori Learning Centre (second place) and St. Monica Catholic School (third place) for Senior Battle of the Books.

Durham-Area Students Compete in White Pine Battle of the Books

High Schools from Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering squared off in a Battle of the Books Competition on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at McLaughlin Branch of Oshawa Public Libraries.
Teams were each asked a total of 48 questions based on 15 books. Two different types of questions are posed: In which book does… and secondly, In The Way It Is, name the award… Students have 20 seconds to respond to the first kind of question with the title and author last name and a total of 2 minutes and 30 seconds to respond to the Lightning round questions.
